Real Customer Stories

Interact has a million copycats, one of them even copied our name, and registered in a country where we can’t sue them. With the rise of vibe coding, this will only accelerate. But the thing none of these copycats has ever done, is put in the time to actually make sure customers are successful, and build relationships with those customers so they are happy to share their stories of using the product.

Instead, they build software, run some marketing, and then try to extract as many dollars from every signup as possible, I’ve seen this cycle repeat 4 times since we became the first quiz builder back in 2013. New entrant comes along, quickly copies our current feature set, sometimes even ripping off the design system one-for-one. They set a low price, new customers sign up looking for a bargain. Then, the new software slowly stops delivering features, raises the price on successful customers, and effectively pulls the rug.

That whole cycle takes 3-5 years, and we’re on year 13 of Interact so it’s happened about 4 times. However, through all of those cycles, the best customers have always ended up choosing Interact. Because we build relationships with customers, and they gratefully reciprocate by sharing their stories of success using our quizzes for lead generation.

It’s a virtuous cycle, but one that takes many many years to develop. In any 3-year period, there might be 20-30 really solid customer stories to share, if you spend around 10 hours a week developing relationships with customers. That’s just the reality of it. Not everyone wants to share, so you spend a lot of time supporting people who are not willing to go public, which is totally okay.

There will always be copycats, and AI will make that happen even more, but building real relationships is a Moat few will ever take the time, or put in the effort, to cross.
